The Dry Eye Center launches. A new department, directed by Dr. Luca Vigo, devotes itself to the problems of tear film issues and dry eye syndrome

Welcome Constellation, the most advanced platform for vitreoretinal surgery, which allows the treatment of macular pucker and retinal detachments with minimally-invasive procedures

2013

Installed the new Alcon cataract-refractive suite, consisting of Centurion phacoemulsification, LenSx femtosecond laser and Verion digital marker. The procedure becomes completely automated to provide consistent refractive patient outcomes with micro-precision

2013

Launch of the Advanced Contact Lens Center

2011

Upgraded the refractive surgery clinic with the arrival of the Wavelight Refractive Suite, composed of the FS200 femtosecond laser and the EX500 excimer laser. Greater precision and even more safety

Dr. Francesco Carones implants the world’s first AcrySof IQ Restor toric lens, a multifocal toric lens capable of simultaneously correcting cataracts, presbyopia and astigmatism

2007

The Carones Ophthalmic Surgery Center obtains the ISO 9001 quality certification

We are among the first to use multifocal and trifocal lenses to fix presbyopia with cataracts

Dr. Francesco Carones becomes director of the Carones Ophthalmology Center

Professor Alessandro Valerio Carones founds the Centro Oftalmo Chirurgico Carones (Carones Ophthalmic Surgery Center) in downtown Milan, Italy

Founded in 1963 by Professor Alessandro Valerio Carones, the  Carones Ophthalmic Surgery Center has always been a reference center for ophthalmology in Milan and is today renowned both nationally and internationally.

Now CARONES Vision, our center focuses in particular on research and surgical therapy of defects in sight, presbyopia and cataracts.

Our multidisciplinary approach and collaboration with other leading ocular pathology specialists lend the possibility to diagnose and treat any eye problem quickly and safely
